Lexy Sharpe was born and raised in Lexington, South Carolina. She began her dance training at age five with the Columbia Conservatory of Dance. During her time there she was able to train and perform with the Columbia Conservatory of Dance as well as dance pre-professionally as a trainee with the Columbia City Ballet. Some of her favorite performances consist of: The Nutcracker, Dracula, Cinderella. Although her main focus was ballet, Lexy also trained in tap, jazz, and contemporary.

Lexy has been able to attend multiple dance intensives that have shaped her view and understanding of dance. She did her first two-week ballet intensive with The Joffrey South at the age of 12. With the focus of ballet, Joffrey South offered classes in ballet, jazz, and hip hop with professional Joffrey Ballet instructors. Over the summer of 2014, she attended the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet six-week intensive. With the focus on ballet technique, Lexy took multiple ballet classes a day along with Pilates and yoga for further training. Lexy completed the Teacher Cadet program her senior year of high school where she studied under an amazing dance teacher at Meadow Glen Middle School. It was during that time that she found her love for teaching and young students. In June of 2017, Lexy attended the Rockette Mini Summer Intensive at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Training with professional Rockettes on Rockette technique.

Lexy is completing her degree in education at Winthrop University. So far at Winthrop, she has been able to learn from amazing dancers and teachers such as Lauren Skrabalak and Maria Caruso.

We are so excited to welcome Lexy to our staff at PEPPA. Lexy is teaching both Ballet and Tap this year.
